For gentle books' second edition of the thursday book club, we will be joined by a very special guest: award-winning author, Dr. Nguyen Que Mai.
The event will begin with a fireside chat with Dr. Nguyen Que Mai to discuss her inspiration and experiences in writing internationally best-selling works The Mountains Sing and Dust Child. We will then open up the floor for a brief audience Q&A, followed by a book signing and drinks.
Dr. Nguyen Que Mai's two novels, The Mountains Sing and Dust Child are available for preorder alongside your event ticket, to be picked-up at the event. Thanks to Bookazine, preorders are 10% off retail price.
All proceeds raised from the evening will be in aid of Room to Read's education programmes that bring literacy access to diverse and rural communities, and where Dr. Nguyen Que Mai is an Author and Illustrator Advocate.
Ticket price is inclusive of one drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available). Additional food and beverage is available for purchase.

About Dr. Nguyen Que Mai
Dr. Nguyen Que Mai is an award-winning writer in both Vietnamese and English, author of twelve books of poetry, fiction and non-fiction. Her novels The Mountains Sing and Dust Child are international bestsellers and have received The BookBrowse Best Debut Award, the International Book Awards, the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Literary Award, the Lannan Literary Award Fellowship for Fiction, as well as Runner-up for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, among others. Her writing has been translated into more than twenty languages and has appeared in major publications including The New York Times. She was named by Forbes Vietnam as one of 20 inspiring women of 2021. During the past years, in her role as an author advocate for Room to Read, Dr. Nguyen Que Mai has been actively working to promote global literary and girls' education.
