We hope everyone has had a fantastic summer. We're excited to bring back our sip and read silent book club format. We'll start with a quiet reading session, where you’re invited to join us and read individually at your leisure with a wine, cocktail or tea. After the reading session, we’ll segue into an optional group discussion where we can each share a little bit about the book we’re currently reading. All genres of books are welcome for discussion!

Date: 17 September 2026

Time: 7 - 9 pm (doors open at 6:30pm)

Venue: Venner, 161 Hollywood Road

Each ticket includes 1 drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), and some light nibbles for sharing from Venner! Don't forget to explore Venner's natural wine menu and daily house pours. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Schedule

  • 6:30 pm: doors open
  • 7:00 - 7:45 pm: quiet reading time
  • 7:45- 8:30 pm: group sharing and discussion
  • 8:30 - 9:00 pm: open social and mingling

The thursday book club by gentle books is an event series spotlighting reading communities across Hong Kong, celebrating a range of genres, conversations, and books. Our ever-popular sip & read evenings are a recurring favourite.
